The decision to homeschool your children can be one of the hardest a parent can make. While it is easy to be disappointed in the public school system and it’s many faults, the social pressure and anxiety that comes with pulling your children out can be overwhelming.
The bottom line is that while the public school system is full of many well intentioned people that work very hard, it is broken. Most public school teachers are very dedicated and work tediously to educate every child in their classroom, but unfortunately too many children are not learning and come to hate school at a alarmingly young age. I know this because I am a public school teacher.
So what is the solution? I don’t know, but we can’t wait for public education to be fixed. Our children’s future can not rely on our leaders making the necessary changes any time soon. It may even be the case that regardless of reform, homeschooling is simply a better option for most children. Because who is going to care more about your children’s education than you?
So my hope is that this site can be a resource and an inspiration to those brave parents that take on the daunting task of educating your children at home.
